The scream of Bajr our chief’s Hardy reel could be heard from the Baranof Lodge Deck as it emptied 150 yards of backing in one run!
Mark “Bajr” Rosenkranz took of his apron and made of few cast off the dock this afternoon and got yanked by a 40# BLUE WATER brute! Now we might have to fend for our selves in the kitchen!

BARANOF WILDERNESS LODGE
The the story continues! Bright Crome Salt water Kings are swarming our lodge dock, this morning we caught two on fly rods!!!
Here is Doug from Texas who caught this Bright 27# King this morning after breakfast before heading out on the rivers!
I then followed up with a 22# Slab on my third cast! on a 3/0 Chartreuse Clouser
We are blessed; No need to burn any gas with the Kings at our door step this spring!!!

Each season when we return to our special spot on planet earth to Baranof Warm Springs Bay; the anticipation of the first King of the season looms in the back of all of our minds. It is an auspices event when the first juicy King Salmon steaks hit the grill and we toast with great confidences the wonderful season to come and pay homage to the sprit of the sport and our blessings to be here.
Last Night Charley hit it off with a nice 22# Cromer with Sally swinging her first successful net job of the season!
I then followed it up this morning with a 42 pound slab hooked off our dock!
Life is good up here and we are all looking forward to host you and your clients to a very special Alaskan adventure!

Sally And I have just returned from a grand trip to New Zealand where we had some quality visiting time with her family there and chased some amazing Brown Trout in the Southern Alps High country.
